Harnessing the power of technology to enhance care coordination for our caregivers and families

Caregiving isn’t easy. Long days, endless paperwork, logistical hurdles — moments spent caring for someone you love can feel like they teeter on the edge of chaos. But as I learned through caring for my brother, Liam, it’s also one of the most meaningful roles a person can take on.

Liam was diagnosed with autism at the age of two. From that moment, my parents became his fiercest advocates, but they were quickly confronted by the daunting, and often overwhelming, realities of caregiving. Our home filled with documents, pamphlets, sticky notes, and appointment schedules. Coordinating with doctors, therapists, and teachers — many of whom changed from year to year — became a full-time job, demanding constant updates and repeated explanations of the same information.

That experience shaped who I am, inspiring me to advocate for families like mine. I began my career as a lawyer focused on special education law. I then started Autism Speaks to Young Professionals, an event series designed to raise awareness among the next generation of parents, and I chaired special events for Newark Education, a school for neurodivergent students in New Jersey.

Over time, I was still irked by the lack of tangible tools for our family. I knew there had to be a better way — because in caregiving, information is everything. When the right details aren’t accessible, care breaks down. When they are, it changes everything: communication improves, stress decreases, and outcomes get better. Yes, for my family as Liam’s caregivers, but more importantly, for Liam.

That’s why I founded Eleplan.

Eleplan is a digital platform designed to bring order to the chaos of caregiving. It serves as a central hub for all the critical information — daily routines, medical history, therapy notes, emergency contacts, and long-term plans. By putting everything in one secure, living system, Eleplan keeps everyone aligned and ready to act. Using integrated AI, it learns from caregivers and adapts to their routines and updates, making sure nothing important is lost and that care can be handed off seamlessly when someone else steps in.

Eleplan is more than a tool — it’s the confidence that the right information will be in the right hands at the right time. It’s a shift. From scattered to connected. From reactive to ready. From overwhelmed to empowered.

Since stepping away from corporate law in 2020, I’ve continued to work toward a better future for my brother, my family, caregivers, and countless others navigating an incredibly complex healthcare system. No matter my role, my mission is the same: to build innovative tools, supportive networks, and systems that empower caregivers and make their roles more manageable, compassionate, and sustainable.

Because caregiving will always be hard, but when information flows efficiently, it can be a little easier.

Together, we can work towards a brighter future for caregivers. Learn more and join the FAM.
