Ready, Set, Recover

A Survey to Understand Caregiver Experiences with Postsurgical Pain

FAM, together with Caregiver Action Network and Pacira BioSciences, Inc., launched the Ready, Set, Recover initiative to lift up caregiver voices and better understand the support and tools families need as they navigate surgery and recovery at home.

Managing pain after surgery can be challenging for patients and the people who care for them. Family caregivers often play a critical role in helping loved ones navigate surgery and recovery, yet many feel underprepared for the responsibilities they take on. This survey explores experiences and perspectives related to managing pain after surgery, including the information you received, and the options discussed with you or your loved one’s health care provider. Your responses will help us better understand gaps in care and identify ways to better support caregivers and patients during recovery.

Please complete the questionnaire below to share your perspective. Your responses are anonymous and will be used in a broader report highlighting caregiver experiences navigating postsurgical pain. This initiative is being conducted by Caregiver Action Network in collaboration with Pacira BioSciences, Inc., to better understand and elevate the caregiver experience throughout the recovery journey.

Note: For the purpose of this survey, “postsurgical pain” refers to pain experienced in the first 1-5 days after a procedure.

11% of caregivers

have received medical training to assist with activities of daily living, yet more caregivers than ever are helping with these tasks.
